Michel Pâques is an ophthamologist and researcher at the Quinze Vingts National Ophthalmology Hospital and Vision Institute focusing on scientific and medical applications of high resolution in vivo retinal imaging, in laboratory animals as well as in humans. He pioneered the development of color fundus cameras for rodents, cell‐specific imaging using SLO, and in human the application of adaptive optics imaging for a variety of retinal diseases. These techniques were applied in particular to the study of experimental and clinical microvascular remodelling and to inflammatory processes in the retina.
